Life drawing sessions and Giclée prints

I’ve attended a flurry of life drawing sessions over the past couple of weeks. It’s been a lot of fun returning to drawing nudes from life. One of the reasons for this is the time restriction on the drawing. Models hold the poses for a set amount of time, often it’s 1 minute, 3 minutes, 10 minutes or 30 minutes. The shorter poses at the start of the session help with warming up the drawing muscles and getting into the right frame of mind. I’ve chosen some of my drawings from these sessions to make up into A4 prints for my shop. This is a way of turning something that is often done with cheaper materials (e.g. newsprint paper) into an artwork that will last. For example, I love drawing on newsprint paper, but it degrades quickly. The prints on the other hand, are produced as fine art Giclée prints on highest quality Ilford cotton textured paper.
